I Finally Found a Lip Tint That Won't Budge Under My Face Mask

If you're anything like me, you never leave the house without something on your lips. For as long as I can remember, I have always had at least five lipsticks, glosses, crayons, or liners in my purse at all times. These days, I still do, but to be honest, I don't know why. After all, the second I step out of my apartment, I have to put my face covering on, and my lip color is hidden while it smudges off on the cloth.

Luckily, I recently discovered the Best of Beauty-winning Wonderskin Wonderblading Peel & Reveal Lip Color. This lip product is an absolute game-changer. It's not quite a stain, but it's also not really a lipstick — it's kind of a whole new category on its own.

Wonderblading uses what Wonderskin calls Liquid Blading Technology, meaning that in two incredibly easy steps, it creates the most beautiful semipermanent lip color. According to cosmetic chemist Ginger King the reason why it's able to stay on your lips is extremely clever. "Use of calcium chloride (the masks star ingredient) to speed up the gelling is smart," she says.

First, apply two coats of the color mask to your pout. The mask is a metallic blue, but don't worry — that won't be the color of your lips.

Let the thick formula sit on your mouth for about 45 seconds. Then, for step two, grab the Lip Activator Mist and spritz your lips just once, approximately four inches away from your mouth. This will activate the final color.

Now you have two options: You can either peel the mask off or wipe it off. In my opinion, peeling is a much more satisfying feeling, but the choice is yours. Once the mask is off, behold the most perfect rosy pigment that works on every skin tone and isn't drying at all. I have lip fillers and my lips are always dry, so this is a huge win for me. If you're not into this shade (Romance) there are three other hues to pick from: Crush, a bright coral, Darling, a deep plum, and Sweetheart, a vibrant pink.

This lip color does. Not. Budge. Under a face covering, while drinking tea, or even eating the greasiest slice of pizza. That's what pushed it over the top, making Wonderskin Wonderblading Peel & Reveal Lip Color deserving of a 2020 Allure Breakthrough Award.
