Zenith has enjoyed a reputation as one of the few genuine movement manufacturers in Switzerland, long before the current industry trend of vertical integration. Its most famous movement, the El Primero, remains at the core of the brand and has spearheaded its modern revival that includes bringing back the original Zenith A386 El Primero. Newer models from Zenith, like the Defy series, have introduced improvements to the classic chronograph movement that has allowed the timing of up to 1/100th of a second. The Zenith Chronomaster Sport is the newest watch to feature the famous movement and has been a runaway success, cementing the watchmaker’s revival.
