Gray's Home: Using Powder Room Art to Tell a Story

byGray Malin

Hi everyone!

Welcome to our Palm Beach themed powder room! There’s something so fun about decorating bathrooms in your home, it really allows for more room to be playful. We knew we wanted to tap into the coastal theme of our home, and give a nod to one of our favorite places, Palm Beach. It was so amazing to see my latest series, the Dogs of Palm Beach come to life on these vibrant walls. I hope our powder room art inspires you!

Since this room is one of the only spaces in our home where our guests spend some time alone taking in the artwork around them, I really wanted to evoke the feeling of being transported to one of my favorite places – Palm Beach! We picked this stunning preppy wallpaper with blue trellis Bamboo details to amplify classic Palm Beach decorations, and paired it with this adorable bamboo mirror from Mecox.

We added a touch of rattan in a few different places throughout the room. We added these adorable light fixtures on each side of the mirror, and I also cannot believe what a transformation changing out the hardware on cabinets can do! We got these rattan handles from Etsy! Lastly, we added this rattan blind to tie everything together.

Behind the Rattan blind, we had this gorgeous custom Everhem window treatment created specifically for this room. Everhem, does an amazing job at customizing window fixtures to complement any room and sizes them to fit perfectly in any window – don’t they look perfect?

We picked three picture paw-fect prints that each serve as great conversation starters! The first print you see when you shut the door is of these adorable poodles on the beach, Poodle Beach Day, Palm Beach. The poodles are just so fluffy and chic soaking up the sun.

After that, your eyes are sure to go directly to Private Jet, Palm Beach, one of my favorites from the series as it feels so different from my standard style. I love how each dog brings its own breed personality to the print so vibrantly here.

Last but not least, you will see Poolside Sips, The Colony Hotel which features these two pups as if they were gossiping away by the pool in between refreshing sips of a delicious drink side cocktail.

So, what do you think? Do you have a favorite from the Dogs of Palm Beach series? I hope this post inspires you to tell a story in certain rooms in your home such as your powder room!
