Description
The campaign waged by Germany through the Soviet Union during the Second World War was fraught with logistical issues. Among the myriad of these was the lack of proper Winter clothing overlooked by military command. Only after Germanys major defeat at Stalingrad, a year later at the end of 1943 these reversible Winter jackets started being produced.
The handiest feature of these jackets by far is its reversible camouflage. One side in Splinter camo (Splittertarnmuster) and the other in white for the snow filled fields of the Russian steppe. The thought gone into these not just to change colour on the fly but also to still have functional pockets, hood and other adjusting features is brilliant. All the while having an insulated interior (except in the hood like the originals) - these are quite thick and sacrifice some movement for warmth. Whether you are reenacting the Battle of the bulge or freezing your butt off on the Eastern Front, these jackets will set the tone.
An essential bit of clothing for anyone doing a WW2 German impression whether it be for reenactments, airsoft players or period film productions.
