The Taste: Fresh and fiery with watermelon, guava and ginger. Bitter notes of ginseng and floral green herbs combine for a lingering dry finish of rich tannins, hibiscus and an exotic heat.
Botivo is unlike anything else in the category, it’s an elegantly complex drink that is refreshing and not sweet. It is a small batch product that infuses 5 botanicals (rosemary, thyme, orange zest, gentian, wormwood) and honey into a fermented apple base, for several weeks to balance and extract the flavours and natural complexities.

We use natural botanicals and coriander seeds to achieve that classic gin flavor and a unique distillate using the shells from chili seeds to provide that satisfying heat we love. Originating in Kyoto in the 1920s as a way of utilising leftover leaves, stems, stalks and twigs, Hojicha is a roasted green tea from Japan. The tea has a deep umami character and notes of nori seaweed, roasted hazelnut and delicate smoke, with dry and woody tannins.

The grapes come from the Coastal Region of South Africa, an area known for high quality wines from low yielding vineyards. All our growers are Fairtrade certified. The grapes are picked at full maturity and macerated to extract color and tannins. Fermentation takes place with a cultured yeast at temperatures between 25 and 28°C. After the fermentation is complete, the wine is left in the fermentation tank with the skins for another 2 weeks to ensure integration and full development of the tannin structure. The alcohol is then carefully removed using a vacuum spinning cone process. This allows the alcohol to be removed without affecting the integrity of the wine. The result is a nuanced red wine with well-integrated tannins and a taste of red berries and spicy herbs.
