A cool & comfy collab is cooking

A playful and professional playground where design and dreams come true

As a global retailer with several design awards behind us, we are proud to announce our new unique partnership with the prestigious school, London College of Fashion, UAL. The creative collab will be available online and in our stores December 29th.

Over the years, we have partnered with several international artists, David Shrigley and Misaki Kawai to mention a few, and we’re truly excited about our current collab with the promising designers of tomorrow.

We reached out to London College of Fashion, UAL, where skilled, acknowledged and upcoming designers have graduated for over a century. The intention was a collab of benefit to both parties, and as Mehak, one of the design students, puts it: ‘This collaboration was everything I could dream of – fun, creative, hard work, supportive and appreciative’. In our book, the partnership is also a win-win. The design students have the opportunity to work with a playful, global retailer, while we’re learning from committed young people in the industry. We get to show the world that we believe in design democracy – that we want to make a difference in the world!

Wear your favourite food

The London College og Fashion, UAL students competed with costumes in the party category, in the class of textile design. Five female students showed us how creativity, playfulness and design can go hand in hand, and they won the competition with their children costume collection, Favourite Food:

‘Every design was created with the idea that it should be attractive enough to attract kids, but at the same time be cute and innovative enough for parents to be excited about it as well’.

These are the thoughts that Mehak and her fellow students put into the winning designs. A design which enables children of all sizes, thanks to adjustable straps, to be a comfy version of their favourite food. Whether they’re in the mood for a burger, a pizza, a cupcake, or a popcorn corn, the children can wear it whenever and wherever their creativity unfolds. Prices vary between 15 and 20 euros.

We believe that Flying Tiger Copenhagen and London College of Fashion, UAL is a match made in heaven because we can reach our main audience in a way where playful design and creative dreams come true. And as Mehak says, with this collection we have been given the opportunity ‘to entertain the emotions of both the child and the parents’. We couldn’t agree more, and on that note: Long live childlike creativity!
