Age is just a number, with this weapon Craig Eather!

We sat down with Craig Eather to talk about all thing’s health, fitness & living your best life in celebration of Men’s Health Month

Craig believes that to keep both mentally and physically healthy, you need balance across life. He loves to read & listen to inspirational speeches & books, as well as kick his feet up & relax. Rest & recovery is equally as important as training hard & being active.

Craig lives, breathes & sleeps fitness! Being a fitness instructor as well as working at a fitness equipment company, VERVE Fitness, as Sales Executive and Customer Service truly reflects his passion for healthy living and getting the most out of life.

He instructs spinning cycle classes, HIIT training and even boxing. And for his personal pleasure, he has recently taken up CrossFit, to keep his fitness levels firing on all cylinders.

While fitness is his life, he admits he measures himself against people 20+ years younger than him, and always reminds himself that age is no excuse or barrier to anything he sets out to achieve.

And the cherry on top of finding his balance is allowing himself to ‘let his hair down’ and unwind from his daily challenges. This is crucial to his mental & physical well-being, and highly recommends each & everyone one of us find that balance, to live our best life!

June is Men's Health Month, and we wanted to highlight the importance of such a key month in the year. Craig has shed some light on a key organisation, The Black Dog Institute,  which is a non-profit facility that supports a positive change in people's mental health space.

Taking it a step further, it understands & supports the challenges facing men trying to live financially, physically, emotionally, and mentally in today’s environment. With everyday pressures, it gives men peace of mind that it's ok to ‘not be ok’ and get some support, after all, that is partially why Men’s health month was created.

Judging from the above, Craig is a very busy active man, so it was only fitting to pick his brain about his top 5 tips for keeping his mind, body & soul healthy.

1. Firstly, you’ve got to have a routine. This helps keep you focused and balanced.

2. GOALS, Goals, Goals! I highly recommend setting & having goals- small or big, it doesn't matter, as long as you have some! This will too help bring focus & purpose to your daily life, but also reward you when you achieve them!

3. Be disciplined. Yes, we are taught this from a young age, with boundaries put in place as a form of learning & growing. But the older we become, the harder discipline becomes, so that's why it is crucial to work on being disciplined, as it will come with many rewards in the long run.

4. Um….But, Bla Bla Bla! Yes, you heard me right- no excuses! Life’s too short to make excuses, commit & do it, and you will thank yourself later, as there is no time for excuses, now, not ever.

5. Don't procrastinate. Just remind yourself, know that now is the time, cause tomorrow isn’t promised.

And to wrap up this month, do you have any further words of wisdom you would like to share with us Craig?

I think it's great to recognise that blokes do have challenges. Yes, we can shrug things off and make things seem ‘ no trouble’. But that could all add up and explode if we don't take the time out to recognise our struggles & our accomplishments.

Feeling inspired by Craig Eather? Like you can go off & smash some goals and live your best life? Well, that's the idea, we want to inspire the movement to live your best life, and be greater than you were yesterday.
