Sakumagは、ニューヨークを拠点に活動するライター、佐久間裕美子が主宰するWeのための「行動にいざなう」ニュースレターとコレクティブです。

1996年に渡米し、1998年からニューヨーク在住。出版社、通信社などを経て2003年に独立。政治家（アル・ゴア副大統領、ショーペン元スウェーデン首相）、ミュージシャン（坂本龍一、ビースティ・ボーイズ、マーク・ロンソン）、作家（カズオ・イシグロ、ポール・オースター、ゲリー・スナイダー）、デザイナー（川久保玲、トム・フォード、トム・ブラウン）、アーティスト（草間彌生、ジェフ・クーンズ、杉本博司、ライアン・マクギンリー、エリザベス・ペイトン）など、幅広いジャンルにわたり多数の著名人・クリエーターにインタビューしてきました。著書に「ピンヒールははかない」（幻冬舎）、「ヒップな生活革命」（朝日出版社）、翻訳書に「世界を動かすプレゼン力」（NHK出版）、「テロリストの息子」（朝日出版社）。2013〜2014年にはiPAD マガジンPERSICOPE 主宰。慶應大学卒業。イェール大学修士号を取得。

Sakumag is the name of a newsletter written by Yumiko Sakuma and a collective of people engaged in activism for a better world. We hold co-learning and activities-fused events, publish books, collect signatures, and turn unwanted materials into products. Everything Sakumag does is initiated by members.

About Yumiko Sakuma

I write profiles of people and organizations mainly for Japanese magazines and occasionally for English-based magazines. I have written a few books, Hip Na Seikatsu Kakumei (Hip Revolution) and Pin Heel Wa Hakanai (Take Off Your Heels).

My past interviews include politicians (Al Gore), movie figures (Sean Penn, George Clooney, Wes Anderson, Woody Allen), musicians (Ryuichi Sakamoto, Beastie Boys, Mark Ronson), designers (Rei Kawakubo, Tom Ford, Thom Browne) authors (Kazuo Ishiguro, Paul Auster), artists (Yayoi Kusama, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Ryan McGinley, Tim Hetherington, Elizabeth Peyton), legends (Robert Frank, Genna Rowlands, Gary Snyder, Les Paul), and many many more.

I was also a co-founder of the iPad-based independent magazine PERISCOPE.

I wear other hats as well, translating books and press materials, occasionally producing shoots and events, and helping companies strategize overseas marketing plans and source products in Japan.
