Big news! We've started a new yarn brand named Bread & Butter!

It shares Verb's ethos of attention to the health of the earth by being sourced entirely domestically. Bread & Butter yarns are made from US grown wool, and are dyed, spun, and finished in the US. As the name implies, we envision these yarns as staples, wearable and comforting, that cover the range of thicknesses we want to knit with and wear. We are so excited to bring you the Verb experience at a lower price point, that gives us all a little break!

Named Everyday because we hope you will use it as your Everyday yarn. Made of super soft U.S. Merino wool, Everyday is a soft worsted-weight yarn ready to be made into your favorite cozy hats, mitts, scarves, and sweaters. It is worsted weight (16 sts / 4") making it easy to knit for everyone from beginners to advanced knitter, crocheters, and weavers. Like its thicker sibling, Bun, it is dyed and spun in the U.S. Round and bouncy, it picks up stitch definition beautifully so a great choice when knitting cables, brioche, and ribbed stitch patterns.

Everyday comes in 16 beautifully blended colors that Kristine, the co-owner of Verb, created by carding and spinning by hand. This palette was influenced by our love of hiking, gardening, and living in the Bay Area, and the colors in it are designed to work well together for colorwork projects.

The 17th colorway, Soft Serve is undyed and is a great yarn to use when naturally-dyeing. Check out our books The Modern Natural Dyer and Journeys in Natural Dyeing for instructions.

PATTERNS
Everyday Mitts by Cocoknits (pictured in Coastal Redwood and Graphite) - 1-2 skeins
Cha-Gu Beanie by Tiffany Chen (pictured in Ballpoint) - 1-2 skeins
Corncob Beanie by Chin Matthews (pictured in Snail) - 2 skeins
Jesse Sweater by Cocoknits - love those cables! (pictured in Day Moon)

As this yarn is blended in small batches, when switching to a new skein, blend the yarn: when reaching the end of the skein, knit one row from the new skein of yarn, and then a row from the old skein of yarn. Repeat for 1-3 rows.

As each dyelot may be slightly different, please make sure to purchase enough yarn to complete your project.
