GREAT NEWS! Another month and another miracle through all of your donations, we have just enough for this month’s salaries. Thank you for your gifts of love, it keeps Cradle of Love Baby Home serving these babies in this loving and live saving mission. BUT we have an emergency need. Just yesterday the head gasket blew and cylinder head cracked on our Toyota Prado. It is our only vehicle and the one that we use to buy all the healthy food for the kids, get cleaning supplies, take babies for medical checkups, etc. It will take $1,850 to be repaired. It’s a healthy baby boy for our ‘Wobbler’ Nanny, Saumu! Safu Sadiki Msstafa was born at Leganga Hospital on August 8th, weighing 3.5kgs. He is healthy and mum is doing well after a quick 4 hour labour! Saumu suffered from high blood pressure, dizziness and lots of discomfort for the duration of her pregnancy and after a tragic stillbirth just a year ago, she required much rest prior to the birth. Saumu has 2 other sons who are 12 and 18 years old.
We are so thankful to Anne White and The Power of One for the new cot blankets and sheets. They came at the right time to keep our babies all warm and cosy during winter! We asked Felista, one of Cradles local staff to make the sheets and blankets from large ones bought at the local markets. Felista did an amazing job all on her own and in a very short time….. 54 Blankets and 46 sheets! Its always nice to see one of our staff earn a little extra cash… We or rather YOU, The Power of One, paid [ Read More ]
Remember our Ema?! We ran into him at Sable Square eating pizza and playing on Panarottis play equipment. He ran right past us and when I yelled ‘hey Ema’, he stopped and turned around and gave me one of his big cheeky smiles!!! He is now at Watoto Kicheko – Laughter of a Child Foundation and attending school. He has grown too! So nice to see him!! We captured a few shots of him enjoying the slippery slide.
It sure was a good day today with 2 groups donating items for the children. We received the death certificate for mama Tumaini today and on it it states the cause of death was from a ‘high spinal’ during her elective caesarean section. Such a tragic loss leaving behind this gorgeous vulnerable baby. Makes me so sad. Extra cuddles for you today sweet girl! xx
Today baby Tumaini arrived after her mother, Grace sadly died in childbirth at just 25 years old. She was undergoing an elective caesarean section at Olturumet Hospital in Ngarantoni as her first child was born this way and she died. The family have not been told why or how just that something went wrong and she died. Her parents Grace and Moses are Maasai and were happily married for three and a half years. They have a little boy called Joshua who is now 15 months old. Moses’s sister is assisting with the care of Joshua while he is at work [ Read More ]
