A Mothering Day Gift Guide from Sacred Ordinary Days

Mother's Day is May 10th in the US. Did you know Mothering Sunday was March 22nd this year in the UK? Love that they call it that! (I learned that the semester I spent at the University of St. Andrews' Divinity School.) Perhaps, in the spirit of Mothering Sunday,  since you can't visit your mother church you could write a note to a teacher, clergy member, or church office manager who influenced your early faith formation.

I've always loved magazines and blogs. gift guides and round-ups. I've not ever been a part of putting one together, but I've benefitted from many I've read, screen-shot, saved, pinned, and bought from.

We're taking a stab at putting one together. It's not because you need to be told what to buy, but decision fatigue is real and recommendations from trusted friends have helped me tremendously in this season (and every hard season full of decisions). This seems like a fun way to extend this grace to you right now.

Alongside you,

P. S. On our team alone, we have an adoptee, an adoptive mother, seasons of infertility, miscarriage, fostering, loving mothers and mother-figures, and parental loss. We've had stretches of easy, joyful, fun parenting...and hard, no-easy-solutions, did-we-handle-this-well questioning. We've been well-rested and exhausted. We've longed for children and navigated sudden, unexpected parenthood. There are so many ways to mother and to be mothered—and not one of them is simple or easy. Whether Mother's Day brings you joy, grief, or some combination of both, please know that you are in our prayers.
